Angela Sargsyan grew up in Yerevan, Armenia. She was born in Armenia on December 16, 1982. Angela was a sports enthusiast from the age of three. She started swimming and figure skating at 3 years old. She continued skating until she was thirteen. Angela began karate after figure skating and quickly became an skilled. She won a silver medal at 14 during the 1996 Armenian Youth Full Contact Karate Championships that took place in Yerevan Armenia.
