Carrie-Anne Moss
Carrie-Anne Moss was born August 21, 1967 and is a Canadian actor. After her early television roles was her breakthrough role, she gained acclaim for her part in The Matrix series (1999 to present). Memento (2000) was her first major role. She was awarded the Independent Spirit Award, Best Female Supporting Character, Red Planet (2000). Chocolat (2000), Fido (2006), Snow Cake (2006). Snow Cake (2006) brought her the Genie Award, Best Performance by an Actress. Disturbia (2007). Unthinkable (2010). Silent Hill: Revelation (2012). Pompeii (2014). She also portrayed Jeri Hogarth in several television shows created by Marvel Television for Netflix, particularly Jessica Jones (2015-2019). Moss was living in Spain at the time, was offered the role of Tara Marshall who served as the clerk to Judge Nicholas Marshall, in Dark Justice. It was her first television appearance. In 1992, she relocated with the series from Barcelona to Los Angeles. Moss left Dark Justice in the third and final season. She was replaced by Elisa Hingsohn as Samantha Collins. Following her return, she was enrolled in the American Academy of Dramatic Arts Pasadena. There she worked as a model, and later appeared on Fox's primetime soap Opera Models Inc. The series was cancelled on July 1, 1995. She was the lead actress in a short-lived Canadian-made series called Matrix. In the course of the 1990s, she starred in several television series like Street Justice, Baywatch, F/X: The Series, and Due South, for which she won the Gemini Award for Best Guest actor in drama. Her film roles included a variety of B films like Flashfire (1994), The Soft Kill (94), Tough Guy (94), Lethal Tender (1996), Sabotage (191996) and The Secret Life of Algernon (1997).
